    In the afternoon drive to the ruins of the 17th Century Drukgyel Dzong, an historic monument built by the Zhabdrung to commemorate his victory against invading Tibetans in 1644. In fine weather the towering peak of the sacred Mount Jomolhari (7314m) appears as a stunning backdrop. On the return drive to Paro, visit 7th Century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples constructed by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo. Overnight at Paro.

    Hike to Tiger's Nest, one of the most sacred Taktshang monasteries in Bhutan. It is perched on the cliff where Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown to the site riding on a tigress. He subsequently meditated here for three months. You can have lunch at the Taktshang cafeteria from where you get a spectacular view of the monastery.

    Today is a short trekking day. The jourmey starts with a climb up to Jele Dzong. The trek trail is rather gradual till the camp and if the weather is clear, the Paro valley can be seen with the snowcapped mountains behind the valley. Above the camp is Jele La (3400m) and Jele Dzong. Overnight at Campsite, Altitude 3480m.

    The route climbs through thick alpine forests and rhododendrons to a saddle at 3590m. We will have fine views of Mount. Chomolhari and the surrounding mountains can be seen if the weather is clear. We may hear some pheasants calling during the day. Overnight at Campsite, Altitude 3780m.

    The trail climbs steeply to the Jangchu la pass (4180m). On a clear day the views of the mountains and valleys are sensational. We will enjoy a great view of Jichu Drake (6989m), the peak representing the protective deity of paro valley. Camp is near Jimilang Tsho, Altitude 3870m.

    The trail traverse through dwarf rhododendron tress and passes by the lake of Janetsho. Today you may come across some yak herder's camps and get an idea of how these people live. Camp is near Simtokha Lake.

    The day begins with a gradual climb and if weather permits, there are enchanting views of Mount. Gangkhar Phuensum (7541m), the highest peak in Bhutan. The trail then descends past Thujidrag Goempa, a meditation centre hanging on the side of a precipitous rock face and journey will continuing further through juniper trees to the campsite near Phajodin Goempa, Altitude 3610m.

    The trek to Thimphu is all downhill through forested area of mostly blue pine. Taking a leisurely pace you reach Thimphu in about 3 Hours. Overnight at Thimphu.

    Morning: Breakfast timing may depend on the return Flight time. All hotels serve early morning Breakfast by 6.00 am.
